Today is blog worthy...

This morning I looked out my window to a winter wonderland. The 3rd of this winter, which is the most snow I've ever seen in one season. I'm really improving my car clear off and shoveling skills. Anyway, waking up to a surprise snow and having to figure out how best to get to work was sort of like waking up on the wrong side of the bed. And I love snow! Just would rather be a student and be able to play in it. I digress. I'm calling today blog worthy because after multiple mishaps, I'm still smiling :)

Main event #1
I walked into work today wearing a pair of my own pants and socks. I left work today wearing a pair of scrub pants and slippy socks. To maintain patient confidentiality I will just say I observed the biggest outpour of bodily fluid in my time in healthcare thus far.

Main event #2
As I was getting a snack and mapping out a snowy run, I heard a little bit of rustling in the other room. What do I see, baby Shawn pouncing into a plastic bag. Not his safest past time, but one of his favorites. Turned ugly when SOMEHOW, he could not get out of the bag. I can only speculate but am thinking that some part of his body got trapped in the handle opening of the bag. Anyway, he was spastically trying to back out of the bag, got too close to the edge, and fell back/jumped/landed stealth like on the chair. But with a little too much force because the next sound I heard was the chair crashing to the ground, followed by a heavy landing onto the ground. (Shawn is still attached to the plastic bag) He sprints from the dining room, across the living room into the corner, makes a 90 degree turn before darting up the stairs and down the hall and underneath my bed. I finally catch up to him. Bag still on his back/paws/tail? Not sure really. I don't hear any more rustling but can still see the bag and hear a low growl and hissing. Finally get the bag off. Luckily Shawn is not traumatized...in fact, he didn't even have any problems getting in the cat carrier to go to my parents house for the weekend. Maybe it was because he got to play with a new toy today--slippy socks. ;)

Main event #3
I went running today. A little icy but I've been a huge slacker and been having an itch to run, even if its ridiculously cold and windy with snow blowing in my face. This is not the main event. Only to point out that I ran a couple miles on icy sidewalks and managed to stay on my feet the whole time. I went out later, confidently carrying a large box, keys in hand. Seconds later I'm on my butt. Let me say that if possible, don't slip and fall where there are huge snow mounds for keys to fall into. Like trying to find a needle in a haystack.

A day in the life... :)
